Jagannath Puri Darshan

D1- Bhubaneswar- Upon arrival airport/ railway station meet our representative and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit the grand Lingaraj temple (11th c AD). Holy Darshan of Lingaraj, parvati temple, Bada Ganesh temple and Nandi temple. Overnight stay in the same hotel.

D2-Bhubaneswar- Konark- Puri (3hr drive+visit)

Morning departure towards Puri via: Konark. Excursion Sun temple at Konark (13th c AD). Then drive towards to Puri. Check in a nice hotel at Puri. Afternoon visit the Holy Darshan of Jagannath. In the same premises visit other temple like: Kasi Vishwanatha temple, Nurshima temple, kanchi Ganesh, Konark TempleBimala temple(one of the sakti pitha out of 52), Laxmi temple and so on.

D3-Puri Darshan

Early Morning visit again for the holy arati Darshan of god Jagannath. And also in excursion the holy Dham of different holy places such as Mausi maa temple, Gundicha temple, Panch Tirtha* and also swargadwar-(the gate way of heaven) – cremation place same like Varanasi. Sakti Worship Tour

The below given suggested itinerary is includes such three pitha and other main Sakti Upasana centre in Orissa.

D1-Bhubaneswar

Upon arrival airport/ railway station meet our representative and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Gouri and Bhubaneswari temple inside Lingaraj temple, Mohini temple, Vaitali temple, Uttarswari temple in old Bhubaneswar area.

D2-Bhubaneswar- Jajpur- Bhubaneswar (5hr drive+visit)

Morning drive towards Jajpur ( the ancient capital of kalinga).visit the Girija, popularly known as Viraja temple one of the main sakti Pitha– the navel part of sati drop at there. Visit the famous “Saptamatrika” * Temple near the Baitarani river. Then Back to Bhubaneswar.

D3-UgraTara-Taratarini-Gopalpur (5hr drive+ Visit)

Visit famous Ugra Tara temple (a tantra pitha) enroute of Gopalpur. Then visit the another famous sakti pitha- Tara Tarani on the top of taratarini hill( vehicles have been arriving  near to the temple). Taratarini: One of the Third sakti pitha in odisha  ,the breast part of sati dropped at there. Check in a nice hotel on beach at Gopalpur.

D4-Gopalpur-Bhairabi-Harchandi-Puri (5hr drive+ visit)

Visit Bairabi temple – one of the Famous tantra pitha (of 10 Mahabidya). In the temple premises visit 108 numbers of temples. Then cross the Chilika Lake on ferry with vehicle drive towards to Puri and enroute visit the Harchandi temple. Check in a nice hotel in Puri.

D5-Jagannath temple-Bimala-Yagyan Barahi-7 matrika-Puri

Morning visit the mangal arati of Jagannath temple. Inside of temple premises visit another sakti pitha of sati- Goddess Bimala (the feet drop at there). Then after visit the Yagyan Barahi and 7 matrika temple. Rest and relax in hotel.

D6-Puri-Konark-Ramachandi-Chaurasi-Kakatpur-Bhubaneswar (4hr drive+visit)

Morning visit the Konark sun temple enroute visits the Ramachandi temple – the statue inaugurated by lord Rama during vanvasa. Then proceed to Chaurasi – visit the famous Barahi temple -10c AD at there and Kakatapur –visit Maa Mangala temple (the statue age is more than 1000 year). Check in the hotel at Bhubaneswar.

Buddhist Heritage of Orissa

D1-Bhubaneswar-Dhauli-Bhubaneswar(1hr drive+visit)

DhauliUpon arrival meet our representative at airport/ railway station. Then transfer to hotel and afternoon visit the historical place of incredible India- Dhauli-3rd BC and there excursion the rock edict of Moryan Emperor Ashoka (Dhauli santi stupa on top of Dhauli hill. And meditate at the meditation hall of Budha, sangha and dharma).

D2-Bhubaneswar-Langudi-Radhanagar-Ratnagiri(4hr drive+ visit)

Morning drive towards Langudi (a budhist sattelment was discovered in Langudi hill with rock cut stupa with pancha dyani mudra Budhistava . some fragment of stone copings and railing pillars were found. The railing pillars of the earlier variety like that of Sanchi belong to Mauryan age was found. After excursion drive towards Radhanagar- This is the only early settlement(3rd to 1st c BC) around which langudi and kayama hill surrounding.
Then drive towards Ratnagiri and check in a nice hotel near Ratnagiri Mahavihar.

D3-Ratnagiri- Udyagiri-Lalitgiri- Chowdwar(3hr drive+visit)

D4-Chowdwar-Maniabandh-Nuapatna-Puri(4hr drive+ Visit)

After breakfast drive towards famous budhist village at “Maniabandh” via : Nuapatna.
Nuapatna- famous for its tie and dye textile unquine weaving pattern called bandha. Excursion the unique weaving pattern over there and also meet the master weaver. Then drive to maniabandh village where every body is weaver family and Mahayana budhist sect family and they worship of dhyani Buddha in their village.( very nice people and very nice village, only budhist village in Orissa)
Then drive to puri. Check in a nice hotel on beach and relax.

D5-Puri- Konark- Kuruma- Bhubaneswar (4hr drive+ visit)

Morning puri sightseeing and then departure for Konark- excursion the sun temple at there and visit the ancient maha vihar at kuruma – where budhha statue is in Bhumisparsh mudra and also Statue of Heruka ( people popularly know as Jama- Dharma). Then drive to Bhubaneswar check in hotel.

Here in Orissa there are two National park- Similipal (3200 sq km) and Bhitarkanika (672 sq km area, a mangrove forest, core area is 145 sq km) and 19 wildlife sanctuaries. But here the below given suggested itinerary we offer you Satkosia Tikarpada wild life sanctuary (project tiger), Bhitarkanika National park (famous for wild crocodile on nature while boating),chilika Lagoon- ramsar site (famous for Migratory and residence birds on nature), because the density of fauna are more of these places.

Duration of Tour: 7 Night / 8 Days

D1-Bhubaneswar

Upon arrival airport / Railway station meet our representative and transfer to hotel. If time permit visit Nandan Kaman- 20km from Bhubaneswar and tiger and lion safari at there (safari last bus has been running up to 1600 hr). Return back to hotel.

D2-Bhubaneswar-Satkosia (Project –Tiger) {5hr drive+Visit}

Drive to Satkosia wild life sanctuary. Upon arrival there check in a nice jungle resort run by local and forest department inside of core area (With proper safety). Afternoon hiking inside the jungle trail guided by govt. Guide (its mandatory). Meet the wild animal on nature.

D3-Satkosia wild life sanctuary

Early morning hiking on jungle trail enjoy the flora and fauna (including different birds on nature) and then drive to Satkosia Gorge and boating in the Mahanadi River. To meet the Magar crocodile on nature.Tiger Orissa
Afternoon again hiking on the jungle pond area to watch the movement of wild animal.
*Morning and late afternoon it’s time to movement of the wild animal. So again do the two hiking inside of core area and enjoy the flora and fauna of that area.

D4-Satkosia-Bhitarkanika National Park (5hr drive+Visit)

Morning drive towards Bhitarkanika National Park. Check in a nice resort in buffer zone. Walk around the area to meet different birds on nature.
Overnight stay in that resort, if it is cold and cloudless night then enjoys the camp fire with star full night.

D5-Bhitarkanika National Park

Morning meet the wild crocodile on nature while boating on different creeks. Also visit the interpitation centre. Hiking the core area and meet different fauna such as wild boar, spotted deer, jungle fowl, and many different birds. Afternoon again boating on buffer zone. Crocodile Orissa
Overnight at the same resort.

D6-Bhitarkanika-chilika Lake (4hr drive+Visit)

Morning proceed chilika lake. Check in a nice resort at Mangalajodi*. Afternoon walk around the natural trail and enjoy the wet land with different migratory and residence birds on nature with very short distance (more or less 20-30 mts).

D7-chilika Lake

Chilika lake: the area is around 1100 sq km. Home of migratory and residence birds and also wild Irrawaddy dolphin on nature. (But which side we mentioned that side is famous for bird’s zone because that area is outer chilika).
Morning ride a catamaran boat (with boatman) and meet the migratory and residence birds on nature. Overnight stay pleasantly in that resort.

D8-Departure

Morning departure to Bhubaneswar (2hr drive) board the flight / train to your onwards journey.

Day1-Bhubaneswar

Upon arrival meet our representative and transfer to hotel, if time permit the lion and bear safari at Nandankan (16km from Bhubaneswar city). Overnight stay at the same hotel.

Day2-Bhubaneswar- Bhitarkanika Nationalpark (4.30hr drive+visit)

Morning departure for Bhitarkanika National park, check in a clean and comfort eco cottage and afternoon boat ride for Dhamra Island area ( buffer zone of the national park). Enjoy the typical mouth watering Bengali dinner at the resort.

Day3-Bhitarkanika National Park

Meet the wild salt water crocodile in the different creeks of this national park while on boating and hiking the core area and meet the wild animal like spotted deer, wild boar, red jungle fowl, and many more…. Enjoy the picnic lunch in the boat.
Boat: This is a motor boat ( about 8-11 mt) with proper sitting arrangement, with very strong fitted hued on top. Normally guest prefer to seat on the top of the boat while we are entering in side the national park ( which is very nice for sighting and photography.
Return back to the resort while in evening and enjoy the dinner near the campfire.

Day4-Bhitarkanika- Badmal ( Satkosia Wildlife sanctuary- South)-6 hr drive

Morning after breakfast drive towards Badmal ( it’s the south part of Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary, along the Mahanadi river). Upon arrival check in a nice tented resort on the sand bar of Mahanadi river ( for more detail please visit our below detail bar regarding Badmal). Afternoon safari in the core.

Day5-Badmul ( Satkosia Wildlife sanctuary- South)

Early standup for jungle hiking and enjoy the flora and fauna of Satkosia wildlife sanctuary then after breakfast boating ( around 45mnt.) on the Mahanadi River Gorge. Then meet the wild animal and birds during safari.
Evening enjoy the typical dinner near campfire on the Mahanadi sand bar.

Day6-Badmul-Chilika lake( Mangalajodi)- 3.30hr drive+ visit

Morning departure for Mangalajodi(Chilika lake ), upon arrival check in a nice eco cottage ( Godwit eco cottage) run by local. Afternoon meet the migratory and residential bards on nature while ride the catamaran boat. Enjoy the nice sea food dinner at that resort restaurant
Catamaran Boat: It is country side boat about 5-7 mt long , running by manual big bamboo stick and boatman energy and this boat has natural elephant grass hued and basic sitting arrangement ; carrying capacity 4guest +2boatman.

Day7-Chilika Lake (Mangalajodi)- Paluru- Satpada ( Chilika)

Morning drive towards Satpada( eastern side of chilika ) over cross the ferry on chilika lake and meet the wild irrawady dolphin while boating on this part chilika lake. Overnight at the nice OTDC resort at Satpada.

Day8-Satpada- Departure

Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary

Located in the south- western part of Anugul district (60km from Anugul; 110km from Dhenkanal; 190 km from Bhubaneswar) of Odisha. The sanctuary is covering an area of 795 sq km which is covering four districts such as Anugul, cuttack, Nayagarh and Baud.

The Satkosia Gorge is a unique feature in geomorphology of India. Here Mahanadi has cut right across the Eastern Ghats and has formed a magnificent gorge(22km) with sylvan beauty and excellent features.

The topography of the region is supports moist deciduous forest, dry deciduous forest and moist peninsular Sal Forest. This area is the home for Tiger, Leopard, Elephant, Gaur, Sambar, Spotted deer, Mouse deer, Nilgai, Chousingha, Sloth bear, Wild dog etc., Varieties of resident and migratory birds, reptilian species( Gharial, Magar, Crocodile, Fresh Water turtle, Poisons & Non poisons snakes etc.)

Best time to visit: Oct. to April (during summer season chances of sighting is more) ; entry gate point ( Pampasara) open from morning 7am for day visit and till 5 pm for accommodation at the resort/ camp of the sanctuary.

Bhitarkanika National Park

Located in the north-eastern part of Kendrapara district of Odisha. The sanctuary is covering an area of 672 sq km and out of that 145 sq km is core area. The topography of the region is mangrove. The major wildlife of the Bhitarkanika National park include salt water crocodile, water monster Lizard, spotted deer, monkey, wild boar, jungle cat , fox, Jackal, mongoose, fishing cat, hyena etc.

The sanctuary also has a sizable bird population with prominent being 8 different type kingfisher, open bill stork, ibis , cormorants, Darters, water hen, Hupei, Tree pie, Wood Peckers, Drongos, Egrets, red jungle fowl and Herons.The flora of Bhitarkanika National Park chiefly comprises of Mangrove forest with Hental being the prominent trees.

Nearest airport: Bhubaneswar-150km from Khola entry point; Nearest Railway station: Cuttack-120km, Bhubaneswar-150km

Best time to visit: Oct. to March ( during winter chances of sighting is more) ) entry point ( for boating) for the national park open from morning 7 am to exit time 5 pm at Khola & Gupty Gate.

Closing of the sanctuary: 14May-31 July. & 1jan.-10jan.

There are eco cottage and tent in the buffer area of this national park, near khola gate, there are limited accommodation to avoid the rush please book in advance.

Chilika Lake-Birds Sanctuary/ wild Irrawaddy Dolphin

Located in the south-eastern part of Puri district; The sanctuary is covering an area of 1100 sq km.

Place of attraction: satpada ( sight wild Irrawaddy Dolphin while in boating)-58km from Puri; 120km from Bhubaneswar. Boating facilities: Motor Boat available at Satpada, Sipakuda, Mirzapur, Gabakunda

accommodation : OTDC , Hotel at there.

Mangalajodi-sighting of wild migratory and residential bird on nature -100km from Bhubaneswar; 120 km from puri . Boating facilities: catamaran Boat available with hood , binocular, and train bird watching guide with boatman, limited of boating capacity 4+2 There is eco cottage and tent at Mangalajodi. Due to limited accommodation, to avoid the rush please book in advance.

Rambha- 140km from Bhubaneswar, 120 km from puri- through chilika lake/ ferry. Boating facility: at Rambha, Motor Boat and catamaran boat both available. Badmul is a small village in Nayagarh,(110 km from Bhubaneswar) on the foothills of majestic mountains and on the other side one would see the serenity of magnanimous Mahanadi River meandering through the golden sand bars. The alarm call of Spotted Deer & Sambar makes one realize that Satkosia is a Tiger Reserve after all. It’s the jungle of Leopards, Dholes and Wild Cats. The crocodiles basking on the white sands on a wintery morning, with the barckdrop of rising sun is a picture that is real here.

Feel the joy of spending nights in the Tents amidst the wilderness of dense and shady forests in your backyard. Daringbadi is a hill station in Odisha state of eastern India. It is widely known as “Kashmir of Odisha”, situated at a height of 915 mt in Kandhmal Dist.

DONGRIA KANDHA:

In the remote mountainous wilderness of the Eastern Ghats region of South Orissa lives a fascinating Kuvi-speaking tribe called, the Dongria Kandha. They inhabit the lofty Niyamgiri hill ranges in the district of Rayagada. They stand apart from Dongaria Kondhothers for their famous Meria festival, expertise in horticulture and colourful dress, adornments and life style. For being the denizens of hills, forests and highlands (dongar), their neighbours name them Dongria. Dongria men and women are quite fashionable in their personal adornments, that makes them attractive and distinguish them from others. Dongria men put on a long and narrow piece of loin cloth and women use two pieces of cloth, each 3-4 ft. In length. Both men and women grow long hair. A wooden comb (kokuya) is fixed at the hair knot of men and women which adorns the hair-lock and keeps the hair tight. A tiny knife (pipli) with colourful thread balls at its metal handle, adorns the hair lock of women. Men and women put on aluminum neck rings, beads & coin necklaces (kekodika), finger rings. In addition to that women wear bangles, anklets, toe rings. Both men and women wear earrings and nose-rings.

BONDA:

Bonda WomenIn the wild and remote mountainous country located towards the south-western tip of the Malkanigiri highlands lives a unique tribal community called- “Bonda”. The tribesmen identify themselves as “Remo” (man). Bonda speak a language of their own that belongs to the Austro- Asiatic (South Mundari) language group. Bonda men are brave and bold. They derive their identity from their arms, such as bow, arrows, long knife which they always carry and sago palm-wine which is their most favorite drink. The Bonda women with their clean-shaven head decorated with head bands of Palmyra strips and plaited fillets of caryota fibber. Mass of colorured beads and shell strings, brass neck rings and necklaces hanging down even below the navel and the brass bangles covering the whole of the lower arms are the typical ornamentation of the Bonda Women. A short and narrow strip of striped loin-cloth woven at home by a double-bar tensioned loom covering only the private parts comprises the woman’s wear.

KUTIA KANDHA:

The Kutia Kandha is a section of the Kandha tribe found in Kandhmal and Kalahandi dist. (south central part) of Kutia KondhOrissa. The tribesmen are known for their buffalo sacrifice ritual locally known as “Kedu” to worship their Earth Goddess- “Darni Penu”. They belong to the Proto-Australoid racial stock and shspeak a dialect their own called “Kui”, which belong to Dravidian language family. They worship large number of deities and spirits; the chief among them is Darni Penu, the Earth Goddess worship by the village headman called Majhi & the village priest is called Jani.

LANJIA SAORA:

The saoras are one of the most ancient tribes of India. Have a racial affinity with the Proto- Australoid stock, their dialect called Sora, comes under the Austro-Asiatic family of Munda Lanjia Souragroup of languages. Lanjia Saora constitutes one of the primitive sections of the Saora tribe. They are so called by their neighbours strip of male loin cloth is worn in such a fashion that both the red embroidered ends hang down in front and back like a tail (Lanja). Their women greatly enlarge their enlarge their ear lobes to wear rounded wooden pegs and have a characteristic tattoo mark down the middle of the forehead. Install the village deities represented by wooden posts at the entrance of the village. Have male and female shamans to serve their magico-religious needs. Famous for their attractive wall paintings,” IDITIAL”. Observe Guar, the secondary burial ritual to commemorate the dead by sacrificing buffaloes and by erecting menhirs.

GADABA:

Culture of the Gadaba, one of the prominent tribal communities of Orissa. GADABAThe name; Gadaba has been derived from the word “Gada”, name of a brook in the Godavari valley. The tribe has Proto-Australoid origin. The Gadaba speak Mundari language, called Gutob belonging to Austro-Asiatic language family. The Gadaba men use a piece of cloth, called lenguthi with a flap, which hangs down in front. Women wear two pieces of cloths, each measuring about 5ft. By 2 ft. Called Keranga. The Gadaba girls/ women decorate their bodies with ornaments such as peculiar type of earrings, which are made out of brass or aluminium which hangs down from a hole in the ear that reaches the shoulder. Besides, they use ornaments, like rings (mudi) bangles made of brass. Their hair is neatly combed and fixed at the back by hairpins.

Bhitarkanika National Park

Located in the north-eastern part of Kendrapara district of Odisha. The sanctuary is covering an area of 672 sq km and out of that 145 sq km is core area. The topography of the region is mangrove. The major wildlife of the Bhitarkanika National park include salt water crocodile, water monster Lizard, spotted deer, monkey, wild boar, jungle cat , fox, Jackal, mongoose, fishing cat, hyena etc.

The sanctuary also has a sizable bird population with prominent being 8 different type kingfisher, open bill stork, ibis , cormorants, Darters, water hen, Hupei, Tree pie, Wood Peckers, Drongos, Egrets, red jungle fowl and Herons.The flora of Bhitarkanika National Park chiefly comprises of Mangrove forest with Hental being the prominent trees.
