Day1- (sat)-Bhubaneswar
Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar airport meet our representative and transfer the unique home stay / if you desire (time permit) heritage walk the old city of Bhubaneswar and see the activities while hiking.
Bhubaneswar: at present the capital of modern odisha , having population around 1.7 million but it date back of 3rd c BC at Dhauli (Emperor Ashok’s rock inscription ) , the gloriest history of 2nd c BC Udaygiri cave -8km From city center to different ancient temples (on 6th c AD- Satrughaneswar till 13th c AD- Anantavasudev temple) which represent the rich culture and heritage of our state.
Overnight- Bhubaneswar

Day2-(sun)- Bhubaneswar – Aul Palace (3hr drive+ visit)
Accordingly Aul palace record the royal family have been maintained their palace since 1590 AD, the location of this palace is very romantic because it is on the bank of Bhramini river . Present Maharaja personal take care of this heritage palace and guest. During winter (Oct- Feb) evening campfire is very special . The mouthwatering royal food (Dinner) is very local flavor and best hygienic.

While you proceed to Aul visit the ancient temple at Bhubaneswar on chronological order such as satrughaneswar-6th c AD, Parasurameswar-7th c AD, Mukteswar-9th c AD, Brahmeswar-11th c AD & Lingaraj temple (this temple non hindus are not allowed so one can see it on the north gate of temple platform)
Pm- check in at Aul palace / if desire visit the Malhar village near by to the palace.

Day3-(Mon)- Aul Palace
Morning after early breakfast / drive towards to Bhitarkanika national park .
Make permit at khola gate and meet the wild crocodile on nature of different creeks of this national park while pre booked boating (with boatman) / inside meet different fauna like spotted deer, wild boar, water lizards, jungle red fowl , macacoo monkeys and many different birds on nature while hiking in the core.
After full day tour back to Aul palace.

Day4-(Tue)-Udaygiri- Ratnagiri- Choudwar (Kiladalijoda)- 3hr drive + visit
Morning after breakfast on river side , Departure from Aul palace and enroute visit the Great Buddhist ancient University at Udaygiri (Ancient name was Madhabpur Mahavihar, still it has Panchadhyani Mudra Bodhisatva is present ) and Ratnagiri (Ancient Name Ratnagiri Mahavihar, and it is famous for the great ancient university complex)

Kiladalijoda palace is originally a hunting lodge (made by leterite stone )by the royal family of pachakot Raj Dynasty king Joyti prasad Singdeo which date back on 1931 great grand son Hs. Debjit singh Deo host you at there. It is popularly know as little jem of Odisha.
It is 48km from Bhubaneswar and 26km from Cuttack .

Day12-(Wed)-Dongaria tribes- Kakirigumma (chandoori sai)-4hr drive+ visit
Meet one of the most interesting tribal community – Dongaria Kondh or Drill kondh at their colorful weekly market – chatikona , Especially Dongaria ladies adorn with very special ornaments (lots of tow and fingers rings , neck rings, nose rings, hair clip, hair pins, metal neck ring (called khagla) , bid neck ring, hair knife etc with very special custom.
Very nice point them when they pre arrive at this weekly market to carry their jungle product like vegetable or seasonal fruit on their head top.
Pm- while you proceed to Kakirigumma , enroute meet the Kuvi kondh tribes at their village too.

Day13-(Thur)-Bonda tribes- Kakirigumma (chandoori sai)-4hr drive+ visit
Meet the one the most interesting tribes of our country – the Bonda at their weekly market- Onukadelly.
Bonda:-Their unique style of personal appearance distinguishes them from rest of the world.
Bonda men wear a narrow strip of loin cloth (they called Ghosi) .
The women attire is so remarkable . A taboo backed by legends prevents women against clothing themselves above the waist. They make up this very patent deficiency by wearing a mass of brass and bead necklaces and by large heavy circular collars (neck rings) of brass and aluminum. These ornaments cover the breasts and hand down to the navel.
The only short strip of loin cloth women wear is called “Ringa” or “Nadi”. This is a striped and coarse colored cloth to the waist thread (they called Thumiya) . it barely covers their lower parts. Using their simplest and indigenous primitive loom Bonda Women weave this cloth themselves during their spare time out of natural kerang fiber applying vegetable dyes.

It is very nice to meet them on the natural trail where they come from their village (by jungle walk) to the weekly market. And also at the weekly market (different activities) .

TRIBES OF ORISSA

DONGRIA KANDHA:

In the remote mountainous wilderness of the Eastern Ghats region of South Orissa lives a fascinating Kuvi-speaking tribe called, the Dongria Kandha. They inhabit the lofty Niyamgiri hillranges in the district of Rayagada. They stand apart from Dongaria Kondhothers for their famous Meria festival, expertise in horticulture and colourful dress, adornments and life style. For being the denizens of hills, forests and highlands (dongar), their neighbours name them Dongria. Dongria men and women are quite fashionable in their personal adornments, that makes them attractive and distinguish them from others. Dongria men put on a long and narrow piece of loin cloth and women use two pieces of cloth, each 3-4 ft. In length. Both men and women grow long hair. A wooden comb (kokuya) is fixed at the hair knot of men and women which adorns the hair-lock and keeps the hair tight. A tiny knife (pipli) with colourful thread balls at its metal handle, adorns the hair lock of women. Men and women put on aluminum neck rings, beads & coin necklaces (kekodika), finger rings. In addition to that women wear bangles, anklets, toe rings. Both men and women wear earrings and nose-rings.

BONDA:

Bonda WomenIn the wild and remote mountainous country located towards the south-western tip of the Malkanigiri highlands lives a unique tribal community called- “Bonda”. The tribesmen identify themselves as “Remo” (man). Bonda speak a language of their own that belongs to the Austro- Asiatic (South Mundari) language group. Bonda men are brave and bold. They derive their identity from their arms, such as bow, arrows, long knife which they always carry and sago palm-wine which is their most favorite drink. The Bonda women with their clean-shaven head decorated with head bands of Palmyra strips and plaited fillets of caryota fibber. Mass of colorured beads and shell strings, brass neck rings and necklaces hanging down even below the navel and the brass bangles covering the whole of the lower arms are the typical ornamentation of the Bonda Women. A short and narrow strip of striped loin-cloth woven at home by a double-bar tensioned loom covering only the private parts comprises the woman’s wear.

KUTIA KANDHA:

The Kutia Kandha is a section of the Kandha tribe found in Kandhmal and Kalahandi dist. (south central part) of Kutia KondhOrissa. The tribesmen are known for their buffalo sacrifice ritual locally known as “Kedu” to worship their Earth Goddess- “Darni Penu”. They belong to the Proto-Australoid racial stock and shspeak a dialect their own called “Kui”, which belong to Dravidian language family. They worship large number of deities and spirits; the chief among them is Darni Penu, the Earth Goddess worship by the village headman called Majhi & the village priest is called Jani.

LANJIA SAORA:

The saoras are one of the most ancient tribes of India. Have a racial affinity with the Proto- Australoid stock, their dialect called Sora, comes under the Austro-Asiatic family of Munda Lanjia Souragroup of languages. Lanjia Saora constitutes one of the primitive sections of the Saora tribe. They are so called by their neighbours strip of male loin cloth is worn in such a fashion that both the red embroidered ends hang down in front and back like a tail (Lanja). Their women greatly enlarge their enlarge their ear lobes to wear rounded wooden pegs and have a characteristic tattoo mark down the middle of the forehead. Install the village deities represented by wooden posts at the entrance of the village. Have male and female shamans to serve their magico-religious needs. Famous for their attractive wall paintings,” IDITIAL”. Observe Guar, the secondary burial ritual to commemorate the dead by sacrificing buffaloes and by erecting menhirs.

GADABA:

Culture of the Gadaba, one of the prominent tribal communities of Orissa. GADABAThe name; Gadaba has been derived from the word “Gada”, name of a brook in the Godavari valley. The tribe has Proto-Australoid origin. The Gadaba speak Mundari language, called Gutob belonging to Austro-Asiatic language family. The Gadaba men use a piece of cloth, called lenguthi with a flap, which hangs down in front. Women wear two pieces of cloths, each measuring about 5ft. By 2 ft. Called Keranga. The Gadaba girls/ women decorate their bodies with ornaments such as peculiar type of earrings, which are made out of brass or aluminium which hangs down from a hole in the ear that reaches the shoulder. Besides, they use ornaments, like rings (mudi) bangles made of brass. Their hair is neatly combed and fixed at the back by hairpins.

The Kutia Kandha is a section of the Kandha tribe found in Kandhmal and Kalahandi dist. (south central part) of Kutia KondhOrissa. The tribesmen are known for their buffalo sacrifice ritual locally known as “Kedu” to worship their Earth Goddess- “Darni Penu”. They belong to the Proto-Australoid racial stock and shspeak a dialect their own called “Kui”, which belong to Dravidian language family. They worship large number of deities and spirits; the chief among them is Darni Penu, the Earth Goddess worship by the village headman called Majhi & the village priest is called Jani.

The Lanjia Saura: The saoras are one of the most ancient tribes of India. Have a racial affinity with the Proto- Australoid stock, their dialect called Sora, comes under the Austro-Asiatic family of Munda Lanjia Souragroup of languages. Lanjia Saora constitutes one of the primitive sections of the Saora tribe. They are so called by their neighbours strip of male loin cloth is worn in such a fashion that both the red embroidered ends hang down in front and back like a tail (Lanja). Their women greatly enlarge their enlarge their ear lobes to wear rounded wooden pegs and have a characteristic tattoo mark down the middle of the forehead. BONDA:

Bonda WomenIn the wild and remote mountainous country located towards the south-western tip of the Malkanigiri highlands lives a unique tribal community called- “Bonda”. The tribesmen identify themselves as “Remo” (man). Bonda speak a language of their own that belongs to the Austro- Asiatic (South Mundari) language group. Bonda men are brave and bold. They derive their identity from their arms, such as bow, arrows, long knife which they always carry and sago palm-wine which is their most favorite drink. The Bonda women with their clean-shaven head decorated with head bands of Palmyra strips and plaited fillets of caryota fibber. Mass of colorured beads and shell strings, brass neck rings and necklaces hanging down even below the navel and the brass bangles covering the whole of the lower arms are the typical ornamentation of the Bonda Women. A short and narrow strip of striped loin-cloth woven at home by a double-bar tensioned loom covering only the private parts comprises the woman’s wear.

  • Putudi Water falls:- Putudi waterfall is situated at a distance of just 15 km from the place of Phulbani. It is one of the prominent waterfall in orissa. The water of Putudi fall merges in to river Bada Saluki. The surrounding area of waterfall is covered by forest providing place for picnic.

Upon arrival at Berhampur Railway station meet our representative and transfer to Daringbadi enroute visit the hot sulpher spring spot- Taptapani. Overnight stay in a basic hotel.

Day2-Daringbadi

Morning enjoy the sun rise at the hill view point ( subject to clean weather). And overlook the panoramic view of nature. Drive towards Doluri River fall and Rushikulya udgam. After noon visit the coffee and black pepper garden. Overnight at the same hotel.

Day3-Daringbadi- Departure

Morning after breakfast checkout and departure for your onwards journey.
