    Here we focus the Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary because it is nearer to the capital city Raipur (100 km from Raipur; 15km from Siripur) is known for its lush green vegetations and unique wildlife.

    Upon arrival Raipur meets our representative and transfer to Barnawapara wild life sanctuary. Check in a nice resort in the buffer zone.

    D2-Barnawapara Wild life Sanctuary


    Very early morning rumbling around the sanctuary by open jeep to meet the wild animal Barnawaparaand birds on nature. After noon also one jeep safari.

    D3-Barnawapara wild life Sanctuary – Raipur

    Morning breakfast at the river site to meet different birds on nature. Then drive towards Raipur airport for onwards journey.

    Barnawapara Sanctuary

    Wildlife Tour Of Chhattisgarh

     Located in the northern part of Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh, the sanctuary covers 245 sq km. The terrain is a mix of flat and hilly landscapes, with altitudes ranging from 260 to 400 meters.

    Major Wildlife: Leopard, Sloth Bear, Flying Squirrel, Jackal, Four-horned Antelope, Chinkara, Blackbuck, Jungle Cat, Barking Deer, Porcupine, Monkey, Bison (Gaur), Striped Hyena, Wild Dogs, Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, Muntjac, Wild Boar, Cobra, Python.

    Nearest Airport: Raipur – 100 km (connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal and other major cities)

    • Raipur – 105 km / 2 hrs

    The sanctuary has rich birdlife including Bulbul, Parrots, White-rumped Vulture, Green Avadavat, Lesser Kestrel, Peafowl, Woodpecker, Racket-tailed Drongo, Egret and Heron.

    Flora includes tropical dry deciduous forest dominated by Teak, Sal and Bamboo.

    Sitanadi Sanctuary

    Located in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh, Sitanadi Sanctuary is one of the most important wildlife areas in central India. It covers about 556 sq km and features highly undulating, hilly terrain with altitudes ranging from 325 to 735 meters.

    Major wildlife: Leopard, Sloth bear, Flying squirrel, Jackal, Four-horned antelope, Chinkara, Blackbuck, Jungle cat, Barking deer, Porcupine, Monkey, Bison (Gaur), Striped hyena, Wild dog (dhole), Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, Muntjac, Wild boar, Cobra, Python, and many others.

    Notable birds: Parrots, Bulbul, Peafowl, Pheasant, Crimson-breasted Barbet, Teetar, Treepie, Racket-tailed Drongo, Egrets, Herons.

    Flora: The sanctuary chiefly comprises moist peninsular Sal, Teak and Bamboo forests. Other common plants include Semal, Mahua, Harra, Ber and Tendu.

    Udanti Wildlife Sanctuary

    Located in the region, Udanti Wildlife Sanctuary is a small but important protected area covering approximately 232 sq km. The terrain is a broken mass of land with numerous hill ranges intersected by strips of plains. The sanctuary is named for the Udanti River, which flows west to east through much of the area. Udanti is especially famous for its population of endangered wild buffalo.

    Major wildlife: Wild buffalo, Panther, Tiger, Chital, Four-horned antelope, Chinkara, Blackbuck, Sambar, Nilgai, Jungle cat, Barking deer, Sloth bear, Gaur, Wild dog (dhole), Porcupine, Monkey, Jackal, Bison, Striped hyena, Fox, Cobra, Python.

    Notable birds: Parrots, Bulbul, Peafowl, Racket-tailed Drongo, Egrets, Heron, Magpie Robin, Lesser Whistling Teal, Pintail, Rollers.

    Flora: Tropical dry peninsular Sal forests and southern tropical dry deciduous mixed forests — including Sal, Salai, Bamboo, Mahua, Aonla, Harra, and others.

    Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary

    Located northwest of Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh, about 80 km from Bilaspur and 180 km from Raipur. The sanctuary covers 557 sq km. The terrain consists of moist deciduous forests and moist peninsular Sal forests.

    Flora: Sal, Saja, Bija, Bamboo, and many medicinal plant species.

    Fauna: Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Gaur (Indian bison), Sambar, Chital, Sloth Bear, Dhole (wild dog), Nilgai, Four-horned Antelope, Chinkara, Blackbuck, Muntjac, Wild Boar, Striped Hyena, Fox, Jackal, and many reptile and bird species.

    Best time to visit: November to 15 June
    Closed: 15 June to October (monsoon)
