Day1- Delhi- Leh
Upon arrival Leh airport meet our representative and transfer to hotel / if time permit visit the old part of leh town such as Santi stupa, Leh market / and interect with our guide regarding berief of tour program.

Morning after breakfast proceed to Tos Kar region / check in a camp.

Tribes of Ladakh:

Khampa– There is a state name Kham in Tibet and the people of that state are known as Khampa . and it is believed that they have migrated from that area.
They are more Tibet- mongo lied feature. They are nomadic
They live around Tso Kar (white lake). Who can often seen taking advantage of the summer and moving herds of goats, cows.
Khampas live in large, movable family tents referred to as Chinese cowboys.

Changpa– A very hospitable semi-nomadic Tibet-mongolied featured tribe in changtang region of Ladakh called Changpa ..
Their octangle shaped grand huge thick tent made by goat and sheep skin woven with fur of yak called Rebo . which save the extremely cold weather and snow fall by nature
In the same tent with family and cattle herd they stay along with during winter.
The main sources of income is the fine poshmina goat wool / goat chess , milk

Brokpa (Aryan): The steep bare walls of the Indus river valley of North-western Ladakh give the terraced fields more light and heat than other parts , which , combined with the lower altitude, enables rich crops of Vegetables and fruits (especially apricots) to grow here. The area most famous for its inhabitants, known as “Brokpa” (People of the land)

The Konyak tribe: They are Tibeto- burmise origin( which we have detail described in our North-East tribal tour package) , live in the isolated zone of Mon area of northern Nagaland and one of the major tribes of the state. Once they were famous for head hunter / and they hunted head to their neighbour villagers for expand of territory , for hunting head they use different traditional weapon including daws (a traditional knife) , and then they brought the enemy head as a trophy to their village/ then after they tattoo their face and body as a victor.
The village chief is called Angh (like king) – and their main long house straw and palm leave thatch hall for meeting called Murong which also they keep their traditional weapon and musical instrument including long wooden hand made drum / most of the special house out decorate with skull of animals / inside of the hall they keep cooking by fire wood and just upper into it they preserve their surplus animal meat / and smoke to preserve it for future use.
They use bone and other stone jewelry , they ladies use traditional hand made black skirt and men use hand made shawl type with nice wild pig bone with bear skin head gear.

They have good traditional wood carving and weapon making skill .

The AO naga: They are one the major tribe (Tibeto- burmise origin) mostly found in Mokokchung district in Nagaland. Speak sino-tibeto language chungli AO, Mongsen AO, and western Mokokchung district only three village can speak Changki AO,

Most Hospitality AO naga village in Mokokngchung district is- Chuchuyimlang, Mopungehukit, Impur, Ungma, Lonkhom,

Out of all the AO naga celebrate their grand festival – “ Moatsu” , it is a festival of Bonding , this festival celebrated after the season of sowing is over. It continue with vigorous singing and dancing customary practices of making the best rice beer and rearing the best pigs for slaughtering during the festival. The women flok, dressed in their traditional fineries, join the men folk in composing warrior songs. Villagers sing songs to eulogize the lovers and the village folk as a whole. The elders encourage the youth to be bold and heroic for defending the villages from enemies, a custom continued from the head-hunting days.

The Angami Naga:- These tibeto- burman tribal community fourth largest populated group in Nagaland found in Kohima and Dimapur district of Nagaland. Their neighbor called them Tenyimia means Swift walker. Entire Angami land is divided into four geographical part such as Northern , western , southern and plan platoo. Each area has different oral language and out of all Tenyidie is their most prestigious one with written in Roman script.

Their village boundary is out cover with field called khel and every entrance of village is nice display of clan mark and in the village Morung they called Kichuki and Tehuba which is male and female dormitory respectively . after adult sent the youth stay there and learn their life style.

Out of all their main festival is – Sekrenyi , it is a celebration of purification accompanied with feasting and singing. A highlight of Sekrenyi is the Thekra Hie, when the village youths gather and croon traditional songs throughout the day.

The Rengma Naga:- The Rengmas are Tibeto- Burman origin and an ancient days they called the slave of Angami naga but now there is no slavery system in India and they settle in Kukri hill of Kohima district. They male wear tail shaped very lean cloth to cover the lower part and female wear black color skirt type of costume. Which they dye the color from nature at their own hand made looms. They believe age old traditional shift cultivation / hunting and gathering is also way of their life. Stay in bamboo made straw thatch up ground houses in the high hill area. Bamboo made handicraft is the main occupation of traditional Rengmas’. Their morung called Rensi , where they settle their village and family dispute too.

They celebrate Ngada is the main festival just after the harvest. It is the festival of thanksgiving and rejoiing. Ngda also underscores the end of the agricultural year. The village high priest (Phensengu) hearalds the beginning of the festival at the top of his voice, so that he villagers can prepare themselves for it.

Tribes of Arunachal Pradesh:
The Monpa tribe:  it is one of the major tribe in Tawang dist. Of Arunachal Pradesh accommodate tradtionaly in stone and wood house.  They are the only nomadic tribes of the North-eastern region of India dependent on the animal sheep, cow, yak, goat, horse etc and they speak Tibeto- Burman Language. The people are very colorful with their hand made yak wool custom with their wood carving and Thangka (it ia a Budhist art painting on cotton and silk) carpet making also one of their other skill.

The Apatani Tribe:  The lower subansiri area of beautiful Ziro valley is the home of Apatani tribe . The Tagin Tribe: The home of Tagin Tribe is upper subansiri district mostly Daporijo area of Arunachal Pradesh , traditionally custom like red and while combination cloth with very special physical athencity make separate them from other. Still they believe of barter system.

The Gallo Tribe:  One of the primitive human race in the beautiful mountain valley of western siang dist. Of Arunachal is prosperous by nature is called Gallo tribe , who are sub tribe of Adi community speak Tani and Gallo language . They are polygamy and practicing of shifting cultivation . with very typical culture (including name given idea of their children) . Their most hospitality though, out standing colorful festival and isolated villages and every green mountain , river valley attract many guests to that place.
Out of all Mopin is the most colorful festival of Gallo tribe, it is mostly agriculture festival and it celebrate after harvest of rice , so all Gallo tribe worship nature goddess Mopin Ane to bring wealth and prosperous to their community . though Rice is the main staple food of Gallo for that as a symbol during their famous group dance Popir they pest the rice flour on their chick .

The Adi Tribe: Adi means Hill tribe of Arunachal Pradesh , divide into Bogumi & Onai group . they are animist believe of Donyi-pilo (means sun and moon ) accordingly anthropologist these people migrates from south china on 16th c AD. Like to leave in a isolated virgin land of west siang , lower siang valley . Each   / each village has Miri  (shaman) house – who is spiritual doctor of the society.
Each village has female dormitory house where they learn their lifestyle at there including the old women wear yellow necklace & spiral earrings and tattooing is very interesting and the nice helmet made for male by bamboo , cane and hornbill feather make Adi very special.
Miri take the lead role during communal and festival group dance popularly called Ponung ,( and their dance divided into four division Ponung, Delong, Yakjong and Tapu and at the end weapon show to the evil spirit to prevent from evil eye)

The Hill Miri Tribe: The Hiill miri Tribe of Arunachal are live in lower siang valley around Daporijo and Along area, custom is Hill miri are very different the gents wear very lean cloth with bearskin head gear holding usually a machete (a kind of axe) and a knife and female wear blouse with a long cloth which knot at waist point with very special hair style.

The Mishmi Tribe: The Mishmi tribe lives in the isolated villages of Wakro valley in Arunachal Pradesh. They divided into three sub tribes such as Idu Mishmi , Digaru Mishmi and Miju Mishmi
Each sub tribe of Mishmi tribe different  among each other their hair style and ornamental boarders costume / their head gear woven by cane / women wear beautiful silver ornaments with black skirts and shawl .
Amoung all Reh is the main festival of Idu-Mishmi tribe, where they worship of mother goddess Nanyi Inyitaya , this festival continue three days and at the day of conclusion a Mithun (Indian Bison) sacrificed near goddess for good life.

Full day excursion the Tagin tribal village

Day6- Daporijo- Galo Tribal village- Along (7hr drive+ visit)

Morning after breakfast drive toward Along enroute visit the traditional Galo tribal village in Raglam jungle range

Day7- Along –

Whole day programme at Along. Visit Adi Gallong tribal villages at Kombo, Pching area and cross the cane bridge to connect the remote adi village.

Day8- Along- Dibrugarh- (5.30hr drive+ visit)

After breakfast drive to Pasighat the main town of eastern Himalayan.  Enroute visit Adi (minyong) tribal villages. Evening in the hotel.

Day 9 : Dibrugarh – Shangnyu Village- Mon (Nagaland state) : (5 hr drive + visit)

Meet one of the most colorful tribe of Nagaland-The  Konyaks at their very isolated village Shangnyu , visit the 500 year old Ang house (village chief) . There is a wonderful wooden monument measuring 8ft. in height and 12 ft. breadth which is believe to be constructed by heavenly angels. Carvings of human beings and other creatures are engraved on this monument. Also visit to Konyak Murungs (meeting place) , where one can still see the collection of old human skulls. Konyaks were headhunters in the olden days and used to keep the enemies head as a trophy.
Then proceed to Mon.

Day 10 : Mon – Konyank village- Mon:

Full day excursion one of the nice isolated Konyak village (core jungle and very rough road but it is safe for tourist and here the old people have been kept  their tradition , costume and ornaments. ) if desire enjoy the traditional lunch at the village chief house .

Note: Here we have not mentioned  the Longwa village which is now very commercial in tourist point of view / but if our guest like to visit Longwa , we can take them to there instead of our mentioned isolated village -choice is your.

Overnight: Mon

Day11- Mon- Majuli (5hr drive+ 1 hr ferry+ visit)

Early drive to Majuli to cross the Bhramaputra river by ferry (last ferry service is 2.30pm)

Check in a nice eco retreat at there.

Early evening visit one of the Satras (monastery ) and enjoy the classic dance organize by small child sadhus (with their traditional costume and musical instruments).

Enjoy the mouth watering traditional dinner including natural red rice and Assamies style fish curry and vegetable too at there.

Overnight- Majuli

Day12-Majuli- Vaishnav satras – Mishing tribal village (2hr drive+ visit)

Morning after early breakfast meet the different sadhus at their different Satras (very nice for photography).

Pm- visit the Mishing tribe at their isolated villages in Majuli (north western side ) – they are very friendly and very nice for photography. people still living in Bamboo house (We have very good local relation too)

Overnight- Majuli

Day13-Majuli- Kaziranga National park (5hr drive+ visit)

Morning after breakfast proceed to Kaziranga national park.

Check in a nice eco resort at there.

Overnight- Kaziranga National park.

Day14-Kaziranga National Park-safari

Early stand up for Elephant safari (with legal pre booked  permit paper ) and meet the wild One horn rhinos on nature .

Pm- afternoon again open jeep safari to meet the different animals and birds on nature including one horn wild rhinos.

Overnight- Kaziranga national park.

Note- During Monsoon (Mid May to Mid Oct) Kaziranga National remain closed every year

Day15- Departure at Guwahati airport (4hr drive)

Morning after breakfast check out and departure toward Guwahati airport to your onwards destination with lots of sweet memories  and value of your tour.

Folk festival in Assam:

Rongali Bihu- it is the most folk festival celebrate in the mid April (13th to 15th April ) every year in Assam. It is mostly the spring festival to remember the myth story of Krishna  and it derive three different days in three different fuction like 1st day is called Goru (cattle festival) Bihu then 2nd days for human being and 3rd day for god and goddess .

All Assamese family celebrate it very colorfully with folk song and special dance form both male and female called –Bihu dance.

 

Magh Bihu- it is the festival of agriculture so after harvest Assamese people celebrate it with very joy at the mid of January (15TH January) . Youth celebrate it with dance and folk song and every Assamese eat the new crop of their production.

 

Rass Lella- The largest river island in the world- Majuli’s different satras  celebrate the grand festival Rass Lella (dance and story related legend Shree krishna , Radha and Gopis (milkmaid) and it allowed the ladies to participate the colorful festival Maha Rass Lella in different satras which attract many tourist and devotees to Majuli during full moon day of Kati (November each year)
