Morning departure for Barnawapara Wildlife sanctuary entourte visit the major attraction of three ruin temple ( Deorani, Jethani and Jagmohan temple) but still active by the local due to its mysterious shiva statue – Rudrashiva (it is made of a number of animal and human put together brilliantly in a collage) of Tala.

Sirpur

Sirpur is a small village located on the right bank of Mahanadi 83 km to the north-east if Raipur. The Chinese travelller Hiuen Tsang visited Sirpur in 635 AD. Sirpur has archaeological remains associated with Shaiva, Vaishnava, Buddist and Jain Faiths. Excavations at Sirpur have yielded extensive ruins of ancient structures scattered over a vast area. Among the numerious temples and Buddhsit monasteries ( Viharas), the most natable are the Lakshman temple(7th c AD), Gandheswar temple , Anandaprabhu Kutir Vihar and Swastika Vihara and Surang Tila.Every year the chhattishgarh tourism board has been organizing the sirpur dance and Music festival at here.

Arang

Known as one of the famous temple towns of Chhattishgarh state (30 km from Raipur). Bhand Deul temple which is dedicated to the Jain sect is the prime attraction of Arang.
The appealing traits of Bhand Deul temple in Arang involve outstanding sculptures of Jain tirthankars made up of black stone. Apart from the idols, the entire structure of the temple speaks of sophisticated grandeur of its makers. This shrine is believed to be one of those rare places where all the 24 thirthankars of Jainism can be found engraved in one single stone. Another unique toursm attraction of Arang lies in the Sahaiva temple of Bhag Deul built in the Khajuraho style.

Champaran

Champaran, formerly known as Champajhar ( 60 km from Raipur). The village is identified with Champaranya and therefore has religious significance as the birthplace of the Saint Mahapradbhu Vallabhacharya, the reformer and founder of the Vallabh sect. also known as Pushtimarg. A temple has been constructed in his honour. Near this is a temple of Champakeshwara Mahadeva.

Bhoramdeo

Bhoramdeo temple is a very old hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located at a distance of 18km from Kawardha town. The Bhoramdeo temple is carved on the rocky stones in the Nagara style. This temple was built in the period of 7th to 11th c AD. The shivalinga in the temple is beautifully carved and the artistic appeal beckons the visitors. The Bhoramdeo temple has a resemblance with the sun temple of Konark and The Khajuraho temple, and that is why it is also called the Kajuraho of Chhattisgarh. The ‘ Madwa Mahal” near the Bhoramdeo temple is another beautiful historic monument, worth seeing . just one km away from Bhoramdeo.
Other attractions include visiting nearby native village of Baiga tribe, and enjoy their dance in their village ambiance.

Ratnapur

Ratnapur (25km north of Bilaspur) is a sacred palace mainly due to Mahamaya Devi temple . this is one of the three Shaktipeeth of Chhattishgarh. It is believed that shoulder of Sati fell at Ratanpur and the area became a shaktipeeth. Ratnadev-1 constructed Mahamaya temple in around 1050 AD. The temple has deal idol of Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati in garbhagriha. The idol-duo is unique. A small idol of Mahakali is installed at the back of the temple completing the sacred trio of goddesses. The temple has been a place of tantric practices from ancient time. Rise of the temple has been decorated with symbol of human skull.

Mainpat

Mainpat, (178km from Raigarh) popularly known as shimla of Surguja. Mainpat is the only hilly retreat in Chhattishgarh. Abounding in waterfalls, streams, dense sal forests, medicinal plants and a variety of fauna.After Chinese annexation in 1959 when the Dalai Lama and his followers moved to India, a large population of migrant Tibetans settled here. The Buddhist temple in Mainpat, (the 3rd monastery – Nyingma, which is now the biggest of them) the only one of its kind is one of the area’s major tourist.

Pali

(50km from Bilaspur), it is believed that Pali was the worship place of Raja Vikramaditya of Banna Dynasty. There is an ancient Shiv Temple, which is situated at the side of large pond. This temple is faced towards east and its entrance is octagonal. Plinth of this temple is upon five platforms. The architecture of the sculptures carved on this temple is very much similar to the Jain Mandirs of Abu hills and temples of Sohagpur. And it is also very similar to the world famous temple of Khajuraho. Vikramaditya also known as “ Jayameyu”, who was the son of Mahamandaleswar Malldeo, built it nearly in 870 BC. In 11th and 12th century the king Jajwalyadeo repaired it. His name has been carved on the temple.

Tala

(85km from Raipur; 30km from Bilaspur), the major attractions at Tala are the ruins fo the three temples- the Deorani, Jethani and Jagmohan temples. The entire three temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva.
A unique sculpture was unearthed from around Deorani temple which resemble to the Rudra and the Aghora forms of Shiva called as Rudrashiva. This is a bulky statue which measure 2.54mt in height and is 1m wide. It is made up of number of human and animal figures put together brilliantly in a collage.

Barnawapara Wildlife sanctuary

Located in the northern part of Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh. The sanctuary is relatively a small one covering an area of only 245 sq kms. The topography of the region comprises flat and hilly terrain with altitudes ranging between 260-400 mts. The major wildlife of the Barnawapara Sanctuary include Leopard, Sloth Bear, Flying Squirrels, jackals, four-horned Antelopes, Chinkara, Black Buck, Jungle Cat, Barking Deer, Porcupine, Monkey, Bison, Striped Hyena, Wild Dogs, Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, Gaur, Muntjac, wild Boar, cobra, Pythons to name few.
The sanctuary also has a sizable bird population with prominent being the Bulbul, Parrots, white-rumped Vultures, Green Avadavat, Lesser Kestrels, Peafowl, Wood Peckers, Racket-tailed Drongos, Egrets, and Herons.
The flora of Barnawapara wildlife sanctuary chiefly comprises of tropical dry deciduous forest with Teak, sal , Bamboo being the prominent trees.

Sitanadi Sanctuary

Located in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh is one of the most famous and important wildlife sanctuaries in central India. The sanctuary is covering an area of 556 sq kms, comprising of highly undulating and hilly terrain with altitudes ranging between 325-735 mts. The major wildlife of the Sitanadi Sanctuary include Leopard, Sloth Bear, Flying Squirrels, jackals, four-horned Antelopes, Chinkara, Black Buck, Jungle Cat, Barking Deer, Porcupine, Monkey, Bison, Striped Hyena, Wild Dogs, Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, Gaur, Muntjac, wild Boar, cobra, Pythons among many others. The sanctuary also has a sizable bird population with prominent being the Parrots, Bulbul, peafowl, pheasant, crimson Breasted Barbet, Teetar, Tree Pie, Racket-tailed Drongos, Egrets, and Herons to name few.The flora in Sitanadi Wildlife Sanctuary chiefly comprises moist peninsular Sal, Teak and Bamboo forests. Other major plants in the sanctuary include Semal, Mahua, Harra, Ber and Tendu.

 

Udanti Sanctuary

Udanti Wildlife sanctuary is a small but an important wildlife sanctuary in the region covers an area of approximately 232 sq km. the topography of the sanctuary comprises broken mass of land traversed by innumerable hill ranges intercepted by stripes of plains. The beautiful sanctuary derives its name from the Udanti river flowing from the west to east covering major part of the sanctuary. it also famous for its population of the endangered Wild Buffalos. The wildlife found in Udanti Sanctuary include Wild Buffalos , Panthers, Tigers, Chital, Four-horned Antelopes, Chinkara, Black Buck, Sambar, Nilgail, Jungle cat, Barking Deer, Sloth Bear, Gaur, Wild Dog, Porcupine, Monkey, Jackals, Bison, striped Hyena, Fox, Cobras, Pythons etc. The sanctuary also has a sizable bird population with prominent being the Parrots, Bulbul, peafowl, Racket-tailed Drongos, Egrets, Heron, Magpie Robin, Lesser Whistling Teal, Pintail, Rollers and Herons to name few.The flora in Udanti wildlife sanctuary chiefly comprises to Tropical Dry Peninsular Sal forests and Southern Tropical Dry Deciduous Mixed Forests. Sal , salai, Bamboo, Mahua, Aonwla, Harra among other.

The state animal of Chhattisgarh is Wild Buffalo and state bird is Hill Myna. Each sanctuary has clean accommodation for tourist but should be booked in advance.

D1-Raipur- Champaner- Rajim-Raipur(4hr drive+visit)

Morning departure for Bharamdeo, ( Bharamdeo has the famous shiva temple of 11century AD, of Naga dynasty king, the erotic temple art of love and prosperty, popularly known as the Khajuraho of Chhatishgarh). afternoon visit the famous temple and then excursion the cherki Mahal , mandua mahal also. D3-Bharamdeo-Bilaspur-Malhar- Pali-Ratanpur-Bilashpur(6hr drive+visit)

Early departure for Bilashpur( the second largest city of chhatishgarh), check in the hotel and then visit the Pali shiva temple ( made by Banna dynasty king- Vikramaditya on 870 BC, and 11th c AD king Jajawalydeo repaired to it., His name carved on the temple. Near the temple has great pond and the entrance of the temple has nine corner. Then visit Malhar , the ancient town of chhatisharh. Visit there the famous Pataleswar temple ( the sanctum is below the ground floor(lord of the netherworld). Morning departure for Raipur entourte visit the major attraction of three ruin temple ( Deorani, Jethani and Jagmohan temple) but still active by the local due to its mysterious shiva statue – Rudrashiva (it is made of a number of animal and human put together brilliantly in a collage) of Tala. Sirpur

Sirpur is a small village located on the right bank of Mahanadi 83 km to the north-east if Raipur. The Chinese travelller Hiuen Tsang visited Sirpur in 635 AD. Sirpur has archaeological remains associated with Shaiva, Vaishnava, Buddist and Jain Faiths. Excavations at Sirpur have yielded extensive ruins of ancient structures scattered over a vast area. Among the numerious temples and Buddhsit monasteries ( Viharas), the most natable are the Lakshman temple(7th c AD), Gandheswar temple , Anandaprabhu Kutir Vihar and Swastika Vihara and Surang Tila.Every year the chhattishgarh tourism board has been organizing the sirpur dance and Music festival at here.

Arang

Known as one of the famous temple towns of Chhattishgarh state (30 km from Raipur). Bhand Deul temple which is dedicated to the Jain sect is the prime attraction of Arang. The appealing traits of Bhand Deul temple in Arang involve outstanding sculptures of Jain tirthankars made up of black stone. Apart from the idols, the entire structure of the temple speaks of sophisticated grandeur of its makers. This shrine is believed to be one of those rare places where all the 24 thirthankars of Jainism can be found engraved in one single stone. Another unique toursm attraction of Arang lies in the Sahaiva temple of Bhag Deul built in the Khajuraho style.

Champaran

Champaran, formerly known as Champajhar ( 60 km from Raipur). The village is identified with Champaranya and therefore has religious significance as the birthplace of the Saint Mahapradbhu Vallabhacharya, the reformer and founder of the Vallabh sect. also known as Pushtimarg. A temple has been constructed in his honour. Near this is a temple of Champakeshwara Mahadeva.

Bhoramdeo

Bhoramdeo temple is a very old hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located at a distance of 18km from Kawardha town. The Bhoramdeo temple is carved on the rocky stones in the Nagara style. This temple was built in the period of 7th to 11th c AD. The shivalinga in the temple is beautifully carved and the artistic appeal beckons the visitors. The Bhoramdeo temple has a resemblance with the sun temple of Konark and The Khajuraho temple, and that is why it is also called the Kajuraho of Chhattisgarh. The ‘ Madwa Mahal” near the Bhoramdeo temple is another beautiful historic monument, worth seeing . just one km away from Bhoramdeo. Other attractions include visiting nearby native village of Baiga tribe, and enjoy their dance in their village ambiance.

Ratnapur
Ratnapur (25km north of Bilaspur) is a sacred palace mainly due to Mahamaya Devi temple . this is one of the three Shaktipeeth of Chhattishgarh. It is believed that shoulder of Sati fell at Ratanpur and the area became a shaktipeeth. Ratnadev-1 constructed Mahamaya temple in around 1050 AD. The temple has deal idol of Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati in garbhagriha. The idol-duo is unique. A small idol of Mahakali is installed at the back of the temple completing the sacred trio of goddesses. The temple has been a place of tantric practices from ancient time. Rise of the temple has been decorated with symbol of human skull.

Mainpat
Mainpat, (178km from Raigarh) popularly known as shimla of Surguja. Mainpat is the only hilly retreat in Chhattishgarh. Abounding in waterfalls, streams, dense sal forests, medicinal plants and a variety of fauna.After Chinese annexation in 1959 when the Dalai Lama and his followers moved to India, a large population of migrant Tibetans settled here. The Buddhist temple in Mainpat, (the 3rd monastery – Nyingma, which is now the biggest of them) the only one of its kind is one of the area’s major tourist.

Pali
(50km from Bilaspur), it is believed that Pali was the worship place of Raja Vikramaditya of Banna Dynasty. There is an ancient Shiv Temple, which is situated at the side of large pond. This temple is faced towards east and its entrance is octagonal. Plinth of this temple is upon five platforms. The architecture of the sculptures carved on this temple is very much similar to the Jain Mandirs of Abu hills and temples of Sohagpur. And it is also very similar to the world famous temple of Khajuraho. Vikramaditya also known as “ Jayameyu”, who was the son of Mahamandaleswar Malldeo, built it nearly in 870 BC. In 11th and 12th century the king Jajwalyadeo repaired it. His name has been carved on the temple.

Tala
(85km from Raipur; 30km from Bilaspur), the major attractions at Tala are the ruins fo the three temples- the Deorani, Jethani and Jagmohan temples. The entire three temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva. A unique sculpture was unearthed from around Deorani temple which resemble to the Rudra and the Aghora forms of Shiva called as Rudrashiva. This is a bulky statue which measure 2.54mt in height and is 1m wide. It is made up of number of human and animal figures put together brilliantly in a collage.

Maheswar:-Located on the banks of the Narmada river,Maheshwar was identified as “Mahesmati” an important cultural centre during Ramayana and Mahabharat . the town was resorted to its pre eminent position in the 18th century by the revered Holkar queen, Rani Ahilyabai of Indore. The town’s 1.5 km-long riverfront is renowned for its bathing ghats and rows of pretty, tiered temples. Morning while boating on the river Narmada , view the activities on the river ghat. Visit the Maheswar and kaleshwara, Rajarajeshwara , Ahileshwar temple then after lunch drive towards indore to board the night train for Jabalpur.

D6-(Thu)-Jabalpur-64yogini temple( Bedhaghat)-Jabalpur
Upon arrival Jabalpur check in hotel at Bhedaghat on the bank of river Narmada. Jabalpur:- Pleasure resort and 12th century capital of the Gond kings and later the seat of the Kalchuri dynesty. Morning boat ride on Bhedaghat: Soaring in glittering splendour , the Marble Rocks at Bhedaghat rise to a hundred feet on either side of the Narmada as it flows through a narrow gorge. Also visit the stunning Dhuandhar Falls and the Chausath Yogini Temple. Overnight relax at the same hotel at there.

D7-(fri)-Jabalpur-Baiga tribe village-Bharamdeo(6hr drive+visit)
After breakfast drive to Bharamdeo ( chhatishgarh state), enroute visit one of the colourful tribe of chhatishgarh- Baiga at their village. Then check in a nice resort at Bharmdeo and relax.
Bharamdeo: one of the nice cultural heritage place of chhatishgarh on the velly of Maikal hill, famous for its Bharamdeo temple-11th c AD ( famously known as the Khajuraho of chhatishgarh).

D8-(sat)-Bharamdeo-Rajim-Kanker (6hr drive+visit)
Morning departure for Kanker enroute visit the group of temple at Rajim-8th c AD. check in a nice palace at Kanker and relax.

D9-(sun)-Kanker-Kondagaon- Muria tribal village- camping (tented accommodation) (4hr drive+visit)
Meet the great matel casting craftmen at their village at Kondgaon. Then after drive towards Muria Tribe market at Narayanpur then return to their village and camping near at the Gotul Dormitory house. (evening enjoy their gotul dance arranged by us; the tented accommodation with mattresses and all food is including during camping).

Day10-(mon)-Muria village- Chitrakoot waterfall-Maria Weekly market- (Kurendi)Jagdalpur (4hr drive+visit)
Morning after early breakfast excursion and explore their lifestyle and then drive towards Jagdalpur enroute visit chirtrakoot waterfall , the Great Maria weekly market . Check in a nice royal resort in side of jungle at Kurendi ( Jagdalpur).

Day11-(tue)-Jagdalpur-Dandami Maria village- Tirathgarh- (3hr drive+visit)
Meet one of the most colorful tribe of Chhattisgarh- BISON HORN MARIA ( Dandami Mari)at their village. Their house made by stone plate (enjoy their dance, arranged by us). Then drive to kanger ghati national park – visit the famous waterfall – Tirathgarh. Visit the friendly RAJ MARIA village nearby..

D12-(wed)-Jagdalpur-Batra tribe village- Bhumiya tribe village- Mali village (Odisha)- camping(tented accommodation)
Drive towards Batra tribe village and excursion their life style at there. Then meet the Bhumiya tribe ( indigenous tribe of orissa) at their village in lust green forest area. Then drive towards Mali village tent accommodation at there . (evening enjoy their Dhemsa dance arranged by us; the tented accommodation with mattresses and all food is including during camping).

D13-(Thur)-Bonda tribe weekly market-Gadaba tribe village- waterfall-Jeypore (3hr drive+visit)
Meet the most colourful Bonda tribe at there Thursday market, excursion the Dadaba tribe village and enjoy the nature’s beauty at Duduma waterfall. Return back to the nearest town Jeypore. Check in a clean and comfort hotel and relax.

Day14-(Fri)-Jeypore- Koraput- famous pottery making village- Kunduli market- Visakhapatnam ( 5hr drive+visit)
Morning after refreshment drive towards to Visakhapatnam, ( the nearest airport and main railway junction). Enroute visit the Jagannath temple at Koraput ( allow all religious people and camera). Then meet the potter making people at their village. The grand Kunduli Market – famous for paraja, Mali, Rana tirbe. Check in a nice hotel on beach in Visakhapatnam.

Day15-(Sat)- Departure
After breakfast checkout and departure towards airport for your onward destination.
